Automated Material Transport in Warehousing

Software-Orchestrated Pallet & Load Movement

SESTO Robotics deployed MagFleet to coordinate pallet and load movement across a mid-to-high throughput warehouse environment, with Magnus Lifter AMRs executing tasks based on software command.

Using MagFleet’s centralised fleet orchestration, transport tasks were assigned, prioritised, and adjusted in real time across inbound docks, storage aisles, picking zones, and outbound staging areas.

Challenges:
  • Warehouse staff spent significant time coordinating and executing pallet movement, reducing available manpower for picking and packing.
  • Fixed automation could not adapt quickly to changing storage layouts and order volumes, creating inefficiencies during peak periods.
  • Manual pallet movement created congestion at aisle intersections and staging areas.
Solution:
  • Transport requests were dynamically assigned, prioritised, and rerouted based on real-time operational conditions.
  • Magnus Lifter AMRs executed repeatable pickup and drop-off tasks at transfer points, following instructions issued by MagFleet.
  • MagFleet coordinated AMR routes to avoid congestion, balance workloads, and enable smooth interaction with forklifts and human operators.
  • New routes, zones, and mission logic were configured directly in MagFleet, allowing quick adaptation to demand peaks.
Outcome:
  • Staff spent less time managing routine pallet movement and more time on higher-value warehouse activities.
  • MagFleet-controlled execution ensured reliable pallet delivery timing across all shifts, including peak demand periods.
  • Software-coordinated AMR movement reduced uncontrolled forklift traffic in high-activity zones, improving safety and throughput.
